Bunco is a dice game that can be played with anywhere from two to 12 players. It's played using three dice, a large fuzzy die and Bunco score sheets. A round ends when one player reaches 21 points. At the end of six rounds, the player with the most "wins" is the winner of the entire game.
Starting the Game
Before the game starts, one person should be chosen as the game's scorekeeper and given the a table tally sheet, a score sheet and a pencil or pen. This person is responsible for calculating each person's score throughout the six rounds of the game. Before the game begins players should predetermine a sequence of three numbers, that if rolled by a player the large fuzzy dice is given to that person. These numbers can be any three numbers between the numbers one and six.
During the game, if any person rolls the three predetermined numbers together, they are passed the large fuzzy die. At the end of the six rounds the person holding the large fuzzy die will receive bonus points.
Game Play
During the game, each player will roll three dice beginning with the scorekeeper and rotating left around the table. The object of each round is to roll the number indicated by what round is being played. For example, in round one, each player is trying to roll ones and in round two each player is trying to roll twos.
The player will roll the dice and one point is counted for each die that matches the number of the round being played. For example, when playing round three, if a player rolls a three, three and five, that player would get two points. The players turn continues until they do not roll a number that matches the round they are on. The player the passes the dice to the left. This continues until someone has 21 points for the round and once 21 points is reached the game moves on to the next round.
Bunco
A Bunco can be rolled when the person rolling the dice rolls and all three dice match the number round they are on. Rolling a Bunco is worth 21 points will end that round. For example, when playing round four, a player rolls three fours, they would yell, "Bunco" and 21 points would be given ending the round. The game would then proceed to the next round.
Calculating Scores
During each round, the scorekeeper tallies the points for each person on the Table Tally Sheet. Once a round reaches 21 points, the scorekeeper will write the wins and losses on the Bunco Score Sheet. These will be indicated simply by placing a "W" or a "L" next to the person's name.
If the player won the round by rolling a Bunco, a small "B" is also placed next to the "W" to indicate the Bunco. At the end of the six rounds, whoever is holding the large fuzzy die is awarded an extra "W" on her part of the Bunco Score Sheet.
The person with the most "W's" at the end of six rounds is the winner of the game. If there is a tie, the tie is broken by looking at the amount of Buncos rolled. The winner is determined by the player who has rolled the most Buncos during the game.
